Dental Veneer Treatment:
What are veneers?
A veneer is a thin translucent shell that is made out of porcelain. Veneers are placed on front teeth to help improve their appearance (ie. colour, size, shape). Veneers will help to give you the beautiful, full hollywood smile you want. If your front teeth are crooked, instead of braces to straighten them you can apply veneers and instantly have your teeth look straight.
Why get veneers?
- Discoloured teeth
- Front teeth worn or chipped
- Gaps or spaces between teeth
- Crooked teeth
Procedure:
At your first appointment the tooth or teeth receiving veneers must be gently prepared. Usually a small amount of tooth material must be removed from the front of the teeth receiving veneers. An impression is taken and sent out to Cerinate Lab to make the veneers. A few weeks later, at your second appointment, the colour and the fit of your veneers will be checked to ensure that you have the desired look that you vision. The surfaces of the teeth are primed and the veneers are bonded onto the teeth with special cement that is hardened with a blue (curing) light. Any access cement is removed and the bite is checked. Veneers are bonded extremely strong. Cerinate Lab guarantees their lab work for 5 years.
Caring for your veneers:
It is best to use brush normally with your regular tooth paste. Be extra careful when eating extremely hard foods. If proper care is applied to your veneers they can last over 20 years.
